This week at the Maudsley Hospital in South East London, Patricio Forrester of Artmongers completed one of several artworks that have been designed in collaboration with young people staying at the facility, staff and the Dulwich Picture Gallery.
“While working with the young people we developed the idea of journeys – the excitement, the hopes and fears. During those moments our journeys had converged and we could share ideas.” explained Patricio. “In painting there is a long standing tradition of landscapes that take you on a journey without you having to move. Even though the young people have to stay here during their treatment they can travel with their eyes and in their mind.”
The project involves several artworks and the formal opening is May 29.
