Dreams and obstacles can be made of the same stuff. This mural shines out a vivid spectrum of colour. Each vibrant ray, although unique on its own, is most effective when part of a collective - much like ourselves.
Each luminous colour channel resonates according to its unique position in the whole, responding and reacting to the vibrations of others nearby - a simultaneous colour vibration. All of the individual vibrations come together drawing us into one harmonious visual landscape.
Here at Casa de la Juventud, young people are encouraged to flourish through the power of group belonging. With dedication and caring guidance from leaders of each creative discipline, young people can cultivate creative skills and even surprise themselves with new talents. Here, young people who come through the door, become actors, dancers, percussionists, photographers and visual artists in action. Growing and improving through creative practice and the support of their peers.
This vibrant mural energises the house. Yet, there is a caveat: obstacles must be overcome. We decided to incorporate the shutter into the design, showing that although the barriers of the world are often undeniable, with the necessary skills and perseverance, they can be transformed into creative joy. This mural aims to show that rules can unite us while diversity can empowers us.
Alongside our lead participatory muralist Patricio Forrester, the production team was joined by Luciana Hernandez, Leti Prone, Valentino Crispo and Nicolas Parisi.
