Otra Curvatura En La Ruta 9
This curved wall was specifically built for us to carry out this ‘monument to mother earth’.
This piece used to stand on the edge of a long route that divides Argentina from North to South. It looked as if a mini-planet earth was rising from the pavement. Unfortunately, it was now been replaced - always a risk with street art.
There were two sides to this piece. On one, the remote control seems to be saying ‘There is only one planet, it’s not as if we can change the channel if we get bored’. The other side, built on an urban dead space behind the train tracks that divide the town’s wealthy and less well off, features an embracing hand and plenty of new plants.
Scorza, a local urban hygiene equipment manufacturer, funded this project as part of their social responsibility.
We engaged children with special needs to help us with the base coat. They were thrilled to get their hands the spaying equipment.
